Below the MNAC steps, Carles Buïgas's fountain from 1929 still performs choreographed displays several nights a week, free of charge.

Getting a spot
Arrive twenty minutes early for a place on the axis between Plaça Espanya and the fountain, which is the classic view.
Getting home
Plaça Espanya metro is five minutes away, which matters when the whole crowd leaves at once after the last display.
