How to get up Montjuïc

It is a real hill, close to two hundred metres at the castle, so the transport decision matters more here than anywhere else in the city.

The Montjuïc funicular

It leaves from inside the Paral·lel metro station and counts as part of the metro network, so one integrated ticket covers the ride.

The port cable car

The aerial cars from the Barceloneta side swing out over the harbour with the best possible views on the way up.

On foot or by bus

Twenty to thirty minutes uphill from Plaça Espanya past the fountains, or the 150 bus, which circles the mountain and stops at the castle gates.
